The bustling resort town of Ixtapa sits next to the traditional fishing village of Zihuatanejo, giving you two unique destinations in one trip. Experience Old Mexico in Zihua as you watch the fishing boats come in with their morning catch. Plus enjoy the fun of a beach holiday at the resorts, golf courses and clubs of Ixtapa.

Golf or fish.

Check out the morning fish market on the beach or the handicraft market in Calle Cinco de Mayo in Zihua. Test your skills on the challenging fairways of Ixtapa's two top-notch golf courses. Hire a boat for a ride to Las Gatas beach or for some deep-sea fishing.

Enjoy the beaches.

All the major resorts are in Ixtapa, although there are a couple of small boutique hotels in Zihuatanejo. The swimming is better in Zihua, but the nicest beaches (along with all the nightlife and the best restaurants) are in Ixtapa.

Stay in Ixtapa.

Almost all hotels are all-inclusive even though there are some good dining options in Ixtapa. For something different, pop into Zihua for the evening to enjoy a traditional Mexican meal.
