Although Camaguey is one of Cuba's most historic cities, visitors come here to get to the long, silky beaches of Playa Santa Lucia on the island's north shore. On a narrow strip of land running parallel to the Cuban coast, Santa Lucia is a magnet for sun seekers and scuba divers.
Head a few kilometres off shore to the reef for calm swimming and terrific diving. Explore the remains of an old Spanish fort or relax on deserted beaches at nearby Bahia de Nuevitas. Spend a day in Camaguey, wandering along the narrow, winding streets full of baroque plazas, houses and churches from Cuba's colonial era.
There are just a handful of mid-range resorts in Santa Lucia, all clustered along the impressive beach. Prices are very affordable, even at the height of the winter season, so families and single travellers get excellent value with Camaguey packages.
All Santa Lucia resort packages include flight, hotel, food and drinks as well as the transfers between the airport at Camaguey and Santa Lucia.
