DFW Tours was established in 1978 as a wholesale tour operator. Through the years, the company has expanded services and has become one of the nation’s largest volume airline consolidator companies. Having contracts with over 20 major air carriers, the company offers consolidator fares to destinations worldwide from more than 200 U.S. departure cities. For the 2002 fiscal year we issued over 63,700 tickets with gross sales of approximately $47 million.

In July 1997, DFW Tours became one of the five founding companies of Travel Services International, Inc. (which went public on the NASDAQ). The company was established to create the leading single source distributor of specialized leisure travel services. Through consolidation of specialized distributors, the company will be able to offer a single source of competitively priced services and extensive expertise within and across multiple leisure travel segments.

As of April 30th, 2000, Travel Services International, Inc. became part of the United Kingdom-based MyTravel Group PLC, now Thomas Cook Group PLC, creating one of the largest vacation packagers in the world.
