Experience the elegance and romance of a cruise across the North Atlantic. Cunard is best known for cruises on this route and has departures throughout the year. However, most other cruise lines also offer transatlantic itineraries in the spring and fall when they move their ships between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. These longer "repositioning" cruises are usually excellent deals and often call into rarely visited Atlantic sunspots like Madeira and Tenerife.
New York and Southampton, 90 minutes by train from of London, are the usual departure ports for traditional "non-stop" transatlantic cruises. Spring repositioning cruises can start in South America, the Caribbean or Florida and finish in key European ports like Rome, Venice or Barcelona, with the itineraries reversed in the fall.
